Balham, largely situated in the Borough of Wandsworth with a few roads in Lambeth is a multi-cultural area with a higher than average population of 25 to 35 year olds and those working in managerial and professional roles.
It is serviced by Balham and Clapham South Tube Stations on the Northern line and is also close to Clapham Junction with links to all of London and South England.
The area is surrounded by greenery, Wandsworth Common, Clapham Common, Tooting Common so there are a variety of events that can be attended throughout the year, including Beer Festivals Live Music Festivals and a Lido at Tooting Common.
The Bedford Pub in Bedford Hill provides live music, comedy, a ballroom that offers dance facilities as well as hosting Middle Eastern dance performances, special events such as the Balham Craft Fair in February and the more unusual Pagan celebration, Belostra in April. The Vintage Event, selling clothes and other vintage wares as well as providing food and live music, also takes place in February at the Bowls Club. And you are only a short hop from Clapham with its trendy bars and nightclubs.
You can dine out at a number of highly rated restaurants serving French, Moroccan, Indian, Mexican and English food and the Hildreth Street Sunday Market has hosted the Balham Feast, a food and drink festival in July for the past two years.
