Explore Brixton

Brixton, in the London Borough of Lambeth, is a multi-ethnic area of South London with a high proportion of African and Caribbean residents that has undergone a process of gentrification since the 1990s resulting in an influx of white middle-class residents, bringing with them new ideas such as the Brixton Pound to boost the local economy and encourage locally sourced goods.

About Brixton

The area is serviced by Brixton and Loughborough Junction Rail Stations, the former travelling between Victoria and Kent and the latter being on the City Thames Link Line which will take you North to Loughton or South to Gatwick airport; and also a tube station on the Victoria line.

Brixton is renowned for its clubbing and live music culture at large venues such as the O2 Academy and the Fridge and a number of smaller venues including Club 414 and Upstairs at the Ritzy where you can watch world music singers, musicians, poets, rappers and comedians perform.
